Accessibility Statement

At NOA, we believe that digital accessibility is a fundamental right and essential to creating an inclusive experience for all users. Our Accessibility Statement outlines our commitment, standards, and processes:

What Web Accessibility Is

Standards and Guidelines

  • Compliance: NOA strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our baseline.

  • Legal Requirements: We monitor and adhere to applicable accessibility laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the European Accessibility Act.

Design and Development Practices

  • Inclusive Design: We incorporate accessibility considerations from project inception, ensuring color contrast, keyboard navigation, semantic HTML, ARIA roles, and responsive layouts.

  • Assistive Technology Support: We test compatibility with popular screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and keyboard-only navigation.

  • Automated and Manual Testing: Regular use of automated tools (axe-core, Lighthouse) supplemented by manual audits and expert reviews.

Content Accessibility

  • Alternative Text: All non-text content includes descriptive alt text or captions.

  • Transcripts and Captions: Video and audio content feature synchronized captions and/or transcripts.

  • Readable Content: Plain language, clear headings, and logical structure for ease of comprehension.

Ongoing Monitoring and Improvement

  • Accessibility Audits: Conducted at least quarterly, with detailed reports and action plans.

  • User Testing: Engaging users with diverse disabilities in usability testing and feedback sessions.

  • Training: Regular accessibility training for design, development, and content teams.
